Here Bush says, straight from his own war criminal mouth, that there was no al Qaeda presence in Iraq prior to our invasion, something many of us tried to say before the war (“look, seriously, SADDAM IS A FUCKING ASSHOLE DICTATOR BUT HE HATES AL QAEDA TOO AND WON’T LET THEM IN HIS COUNTRY!!”), and crickets chirp in the direction of the Bushbots.*

His older brother, Dargham, told the BBC today that al-Zaidi had suffered a broken hand, ribs, suffered internal bleeding and sustained an eye injury.

According to the BBC, after the incident, al-Zaidi was detained by Iraqi authorities under the command of national security adviser Mowaffaq al-Rubaie, who also said the 28-year-old will be prosecuted under Iraqi law.

I just want to see him and his ilk in prison, at best. At worst, that every scrap of information possible aside from the destroyed files and secrets-to-the-grave will be public record, so future historians will have access to it. Bush’s legacy is in the gutter already. I just don’t want to see any revisionist history take root. Bush is doing his best (to revise his dismal history), and I don’t want to see it fly.

While we’re at it, Cheney has finally confessed to war crimes.

Cheney said waterboarding was an appropriate means of getting information from Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind behind the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

He was also asked whether he authorized the tactics used against Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

“I was aware of the program, certainly, and involved in helping get the process cleared, as the agency in effect came in and wanted to know what they could and couldn’t do,” Cheney said. "And they talked to me, as well as others, to explain what they wanted to do. And I supported it. "
