Horrible unreasonable neighbors, ARG!

You may have rights under law (to the enjoyment of the premises) which are being violated. Of course, you’re playing loud music may also trip that clause.
Either get a lawyer and deal with this like a grown-up or move; out-assholing an asshole rarely works - and if management gets into the act, who do you think they’ll go after - the kids whom nobody else objects, or the asshole with the death metal at 100db who annoys the office and calls the police to the complex?

Don’t vandalize their property. You’ll only get yourself in trouble, maybe evicted, and you don’t want to try to get another place with an eviction on your record. Keep calling the cops, and make sure that your neighbors are doing the same, so that the cops don’t write you off as the sole nuisance.

This is why I suggested contacting the local landlord/tenant association, they will be able to help with “enjoyment of the premises” issues, and this sure sounds like one. Particularly since most towns have some sort of noise ordinance.

It sounds like there are a lot of empty apartments. What is the occupancy percentage there? If it’s low enough, the landlord may have no interest in kicking anyone out. They probably will not respond unless more than one other tenant threatens to move due to the issue.

The police are happily uninterested in profitability statements.

First, you have my utmost sympathy, neighbor problems like that can be maddening! Second, as others have said, resist the urge to retaliate, as it will only erode your case. I think alot depends on where you live and how sympathetic the landlord-tennant laws are to tennants. In the 90’s in NYC I had a problem neighbor. After complaining to the landlord to no effect, I was advised by a tennant advocacy lawyer to withold rent, put it in escrow, document everything and communicate with the landlord through registered mail. This did get the landlord’s attention and the problem was eventually resolved. Hardly seems worth it looking back, I probably shouldv’e just moved! :smack:
I’ve since heard/read somewhere that landlords have developed a database of tennants who do this kind of thing, and effectively blacklist them regardless of the legitmacy of their claim. FWIW, I also recently saw an episode of Judge Judy where she essentially told a disgruntled tennant to pay up and move out if they didn’t like their apartment, so YMMV. Good luck!

Nice!

Bump…

Any progress?
