Hot characters who are nonetheless too odd (or outright nuts) to date.

Hah! True on all accounts – I might include Misa Misa from Death Note as well…

And as for Rory Gilmore…what!!! She’s like the perfect girlfriend I never met…

I’m surprised that it took so long to mention River Tam (and even then, not by name). I’ll also add a fair bit of the cast of Battlestar Galactica: All of the Sixes, all of the Threes, all of the Eights except for Athena (especially Boomer), plus Ellen Tigh (who was probably a real looker when she was younger, but who seems to positively delight in destroying all she touches) and Adm. Caine (just plain way too evil). Oh, and most of Baltar’s groupies, too.

She did a pretty good job of pretending in the premiere episode, when she first met John at his school, but I don’t recall that she ever displayed the ability to simulate emotions and a bubbly personality at any other point in the series.

Rory would be fine for short-term dating – except that she doesn’t go for short-term dating. And once she sits down with her therapist and figures out a way to be less of a neurotic dweeb who falls apart because of one bad performance evaluation after two months work, she’ll be fine.

I am offended, sir, by the implication that evil makes one un-dateable.

Liz Lemon. Sure she’s intelligent and funny and she looks like Tina Fey. But she’s got major issues.

You’re implying that Starbuck is dateable?

The thread is about HOT characters.

Oasis from Sluggy Freelance. She has sharp knives and jealousy issues.

Eh, they are just teenagers with bonus TV-drama.

Ross from *Friends *was so damaged to be undateable. Whiny, too. The actor is handsome enough in other roles.

I must diagree with llcoolbj77. I think Capt Reynolds is dateable, he was starting to open up to Our Mrs Reynolds and the Madame. He’s kind to River and Kaylee. He’s got some issues and rage from the war, but I don’t think he’s too crazy to date.

Kelly Bundy

Well, more so than the rest of that list, but yeah, good point. Come to think of it, I think the only females on that show I would really consider would be Callie, Athena, and Pres. Roslyn.

And Skald, there is such a thing as too evil. As in, Nazi-like.

Well, yes, but that doesn’t make you undateable. Even the Red Skull gets some from time to time. Admittedly those girls tend to [del]be prostitutes[/del] [del]be mind-controlled[/del] have explosive charges implanted in their spleens forcing compliance, but even so.l

Dorothy Vallens in Blue Velvet

Cora Smith in The Postman Always Rings Twice

Phyllis Dietrichson in Double Indemnity

Leeloo in The Fifth Element

Samantha Stephens in Bewitched
Oh yeah, Sheila Keefe in Rescue Me

I’m going to assume you mean the recent Nicole Kidman crapfest. (Okay, I don’t know from my personal experience that it’s bad, as my seething and sourceless loathing for the Kidman woman prevented me from watching it.) But the 60s version, with the angelic Elizabeth Montgomery, was enormously dateable. And I’d see no reasonto ask her not to use her powers (except that I wouldn’t want help at work unless magic had caused the problem in the first place).

Also, what’s wrong with Leeloo? I think she was fine once the figurative weight of the world was off her shoulders.

Dark Willow. Definitely fuckable. Way too crazy to date. Hit it once and break away clean.

Buffy. Same deal.

Starbuck. Yup. Hit that, and hope you get three steps towards the door.

Caprica 6. Hope she doesn’t go Mrs. Praying Mantis on you when it’s done.

Undatable female hottie characters; Parker from Leverage, pretty much any hot female cop on any show, also most doctors and nurses. Yeah, pretty much all of them.

Undatable males; lots of those as well, special mention of Sam and Dean Winchester from Supernatural and George the werewolf and Mitchell the vampire from Being Human.

Faith would be too terrifying. I’d add Drusilla, except she reminds me of someone I did date.

Oh no no no. If she picks you to love, you damned well better love her back, or the planet is going kerblooey. You’re stuck.

Nah, I meant the original Samantha. She and Leeloo both fall into the ‘too odd" category, then you throw in the crazy in laws; who needs Endora, Esmerelda or Uncle Arthur popping in while I’m tryin’ to bang the witch?

Plus, once you save the universe, there’s nowhere to go but down.

Athena damn it! I said hot!.

Aren’t they dating each other?
