My solution to the disparity between sausage count and bun count (the jumbo hot dogs I sometimes buy come 5 to a package, while large “ballpark” buns are 8 to a package) is to use the extra buns for sandwiches or just plain toast. Or, sometimes just buy the correct number of loose store-baked buns from the bakery.
