I have a hot tub with Gecko controls and heater. It won’t heat, although sometimes it starts to for about 5 seconds.
The tub is appropriately filled.
The filter is new.
The digital control panel has three tiny red lights lit on the bottom.
The heater light will only come on for a few seconds.
I cannot find the high limit reset switch.
Anyone know where the switch is? How about the thermostat? Any suggestions? I have called the spa company and they can get to me in September so I need to try to fix this myself.
Look online to see if an exploded diagram and/or service manual is available for download in .pdf format. Failing that, contact the manufacturer directly and request the literature, for which they’ll probably charge you a few bucks.
It sounds like it could be a bad igniter. Those things are rather fragile and unfortunately they can be expensive. They are, however, easy to replace. I would be surprised if you find much information about troubleshooting a gas heater. Any information beyond the basics is generally left to the heater techs. Gas things can go boom!
