House 10/23

Not a fan of CTB. I don’t find her hot either, especially with Cameron and newCameron hanging out. I wish they’d keep Bosley around. I dig that guy!

Also, change Cameron’s hair back to black…and send her over to my place.

Quick poll to dopers - Am I the only one who seems to drink a lot when I watch this show? I get excited that “my show” is on and seem to knock back the brews like I don’t have to work the next day. Sadly, I’m at work now…and regretting it.

Can anyone tell me how tripping on moldy bread caused lesions on the girls arm? Were they self inflicted maybe? I didn’t see that part explained.

I don’t drink.

The thing I didn’t get was how they thought she could have CJD from the freshly buried dead guy. Doesn’t it take a long time for any symptoms of CJD to start to show?

She’s too hot and too much of a beeyotch to fire, at least not right away. Now that Cameron has been relegated she can no longer be a serious object of male viewer lust (perhaps one reason for the obvious fakey-fake hair color). And there’s little chance of Cuddy, Bringer of Moral Compass, losing her head and throwing herself at, well, anyone. So Dr. Ice Thighs has a niche, for awhile anyway. At least until House settles (I used the word advisedly) on a team.

Note also at that at least once in every episode she’s shown striding purposefully away from the camera, the better to parade that exquisitely packaged trunk-junk.

As a shoe-man, I’m a little let down to learn this. Fake leather is fake leather, even after a woman’s been wearing it all day. But for La Edelstein I might make an exception.

(Note: Yes I do also watch this show for the storylines. But this week’s was pretty bleh.)

Well, they didn’t jump the shark, but I’m kinda meh on the episode. Not enough Wilson, or Chase.

Still too many characters. It’s too all over the place. I like the not-a-real-doctor guy. Hope he stays around somehow. Give Kumar more to do!
And how could anyone find that yucky blonde appealing in any way? I find that less realistic than the body-snatching.

PS - I noted in my mindless gossip magazine reading at work that the Cameron actress’ hair color is naturally blonde-ish. They darkened it to make her character seem more “serious”, and she wanted it to go back to its natural color. Tho it doesn’t look natural…

Well he Harrassed the Mormon to see if he would strike back. If he didn’t House could not use him because he needs friction and a person who will fight for his principles from time to time. The Bet was actually Cameron’s way of saving that guy from elimination. “Hence the line, who are you going to save next week” from House.

The old, Not a Doctor, Doctor thought too much like House, House needs diffrent diagnosis and different views to work off of. I like how he told him to contact Wilson, House has a new buddy… who he’ll piss off.

Once again, House proclaims there is no afterlife. The show also presesnts another spooky mystery, this time with Ghosts, and explains them away logically. I love this shows rational approach to the paranormal.

Anyone else think Chernobyl would have had something to do with the solution? She was in the Ukraine and her mother died 20 years prior. Oh Well the Ergot poisining was rather a nifty solution.

By the way I guess this was the Halloween episode: Zombies, Grave Robbing, Ghosts, and Ergot poisining, which was theorized to have been the cause of the outbreak of people seeing witchcraft in the middle ages resulting in the Witch trials.

By the way don’t get used to any of these people. They’ll all be eliminated by Seasons end and replaced with the orignal three.

Wile E - The dead guy they dug up (which reminded me of Buffy, when they went to the graveyard and Willow brought doughnuts - “The little powdered sugar kind.”) died in 2005. Bosley found his records at the mortuary and didn’t think the COD matched the symptoms, which could’ve been CJD. So they dug him up to sample his ankles. I mean brain.

StG

This is the first time I’ve watched this show all the way through. Why is the one woman called “Thirteen”.

They all had numbers to begin with. There were dozens of them. She never acquired a new nickname, and so her number stuck.

And she’s unlucky… she killed a guy and his dog

House lost his team at the end of last season (he fired one and the other two quit, IIRC). So he was supposed to interview candidates and hire 3 replacements. Instead he hired all 40 (?) candidates, with the intention of firing all but 3 within a few weeks. He made them wear numbers so he won’t have to remember all their names.

Exactly. Also not the name of the episode was “Guardian Angels” which tracks with the Charlie’s Angel references, the dead people the patient saw and Cameron being Mormon guy’s Guardian Angel. I rather liked that myself.

Ah, I must have missed that part, all I heard was “but he’s already been buried” and I assumed they meant one of the guys she had been working on when she started showing symptoms. Would their be much brain matter left after a couple of years?
I liked the old guy, too. Wasn’t he a pharmacist originally? Maybe he’ll get a job at the hospital pharmacy so he can pop in now and again, like when House is trying to get more drugs.

He worked in the admissions department of a medical school (I forget which college) and he audited all the classes multiple times.

I do not seem to recall House popping any Vicodin in the last few episodes. Have the writers quietly edited this trait out of his character?

Y’know, I’ve always wondered about this from the first episode. I assume the actors work most of the week filming (taping?) each episode. I can’t believe that is only overnight growth, so how does he keep it about the same amount all the time?

Beard trimmers have adjustments that can allow for very close cuts without giving a clean shave.

He totally popped one in Wilson’s office while pretending to be freaked out by the “ghost”.

This episode had some huge suspension of disbelief issues for me. If the girl sees hallucinations and insists to everyone that they’re actually there, plain as day, why does she switch from this insistance to being the go between for House and her mother? Clearly if she really thought that her mother was there, there would be no need for her to pass along the information about mommy’s illness.

Also, can the Mormon dude get a haircut? He looks like a roadie for Kid N’ Play or something. The Bryant Gumbel Afro has got to go. I can’t even look at him.
