Amen! Peter Jackson’s “Dead/Alive” managed to be absolutely fucking funny to go along with the piles of goop in the movie!
I think it was a joke Lynn. He was implying that Sqube made the movie sound so sensational and horrific in an effort to get people to want to see it. I thought it was kind of funny.
Nope, I don’t think it was a joke, because he reported it as spam, too. I think that Derleth and I just have a different opinion on this post, that’s all. If he (she?) can tell me how it’s spam, I’ll pull it.
Actually I believe “H1K” made over 3.7 million dollars last weekend maiking it the #7 flic in the country.
Oh, and all things Rob Zombie kick ass. I liked the movie!
Derleth: I honestly thought the movie was really stupid. I just thought I could express my outrage at its stupidity (I’m not well-versed in over the top horror flicks, which explains my reaction) with a little bit of humor and whatnot. What better place than the pit?
NothingMan: The universe is doomed. There are so many laws I never got to break… :’( Got any suggestions for what I should go for before I run out of time?
Fuck yeah. Rob Zombie’s lyrics don’t make any sense at all. (Trip through the moonshine, Princess. Hail the resurrection!) But I love his music. I don’t expect this movie to make any sense at all either but I’m damn sure gonna see it!
It’s more common on Usenet, where certain people hype hate sites by pretending to degrade them and, ohbytheway, here’s a link to the filth.
I’m still pretty well convinced the OP is spam.
Don’t forget Bad Taste:
“Suck my spinning steel, shithead!”
Derleth, with all due respect, it would not have been that hard to include the link to the website and various websites that gave playing times if I was just trying to hype the movie. But, if you don’t believe me when I say that I was just trying to be humorous/outraged, it’s not really my place to force you to my POV. Nor could I even if I wanted to.
Derleth - I’ll give you that it may have had the effect of spam (I certainly have a stronger desire to see it now) but did you really not expect this kind of thread when you first heard about the movie?
Also remember that spammers don’t have quite the same mindset as we do. They wouldn’t typically spend 3 months and over 140 posts just preparing for that one fell swoop. They have much more of a hit and run mentality.
Oh, I don’t know … I think you underestimate how badly Rob Zombie wants to capture the lucrative SDMB market!
oooooooohhhhh
Who wants to go see the movie with me!!! First two premovie round of drinks are on me!
On that note, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was on television the other day. Regular broadcast network TV.
Once more, Channel 4 is on the cutting edge of television guaranteed to offend the living daylights out of someone or other…
Sqube is Rob Zombie?!? OMG hi2u!
When this movie comes out on DVD, I am so there. I love gore! I say there’s not enough gore in today’s horror movies, dammit!
So, Sqube went to go see a movie because he thought it would be like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and he’s offended because there was graphic violence?
Am I on Candid Camera?
Ten points to Slacker! I’m not offended because there was graphic violence. I mean, TTCM had (relative) coherence. This whole new thing… well, when/if you see it, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
