Houston idiot arrested

Oh, it’s not the wandering around without a mask during a global pandemic that’s White privilege - that’s just idiocy. The White privilege is thinking you can tell a police officer arresting you to his hands off you and go away and he will.

Yep. I bet every white crayon she’s ever owned was color labeled “privilege”.

Perhaps the wrong foot is the one she claimed was broken.

And that POS used to be a teacher?

And the Happiest Place on Earth knows her…brother?

Spitting on Disney World Security is not allowed.

I’m surprised there’s not more of these stories. Texas lifted its mask mandate a couple of weeks ago via an executive order from Gov Abbott. A LOT of the anti-mask people are still gloating that “businesses are not allowed to require their customers to wear masks.” Except that’s NOT what the executive order says. I bet there’s millions of Texans who don’t know / don’t care about the current mask requirements and are itching to pick a fight with store managers.

ETA: The relevant text from the EO:

Sure, there are - they just haven’t been publicized.

The store where I work had a disruptive anti-masker arrested and marched out by police a few months ago. It just didn’t make the news.

They, uh, got her again – same woman, different day, different store, same issue:

GALVESTON, Texas (AP) — An Oregon woman who was recorded on police body camera video refusing to wear a mask at a Texas bank last week was arrested Wednesday after declining to wear a mask inside another Texas business.

This lady definitely knows how to party …

Maybe they should stop allowing her out on bail or whatever.

You should see who they release in states that have “bail reform.” In my state she would need to do a hell of a lot more to see the inside of a jail and would not have bail at all.

Grants Pass? Why am I not surprised?

As somebody here said in another thread about another idiot …

Pay attention folks - this is your society on QAnon.

She’s from Oregon but keeps getting arrested in Texas. I wonder if the Feds can figure a way to make this a federal case.

My bet is she’s hoping to become a GoFundMe celebrity grifter. Or she’s simply batshit loony, hyped up on waaaaay too much RW internet Kool Aid.

But … y’know … not so much with the Other People.

That seems to be a thing for a lot of these far RW MAGA types: it isn’t just that they live rural. It’s more that they virtually don’t have neighbors.

Maybe their “how to get along with other children” Kung Fu is woefully underdeveloped.

Her house, incidentally, looked none too shabby:

No idea if she’s still there, or why she’s bumming around Galveston. Maybe inland Oregon found her way too liberal for their (famously Woodchuck-y) tastes

Sincere apologies if I ran afoul. I really need to learn not to post anything before I’ve had coffee.

I’ve clarified the rules with the rest of the mods. We (collectively) agree that any detail about where a person lives more specific than the name of the town they live in is generally inappropriate.

(As with all general guidelines, you can no doubt think of exceptions. Like “President Biden lives in the White House.”)

I did edit out the town name, as well as some more specific information. If you want to re-post it, you may do so.

The mods are discussing whether this guideline needs to be documented more explicitly in the rules. (A good idea, but not super urgent, as it’s kind of covered under some other things.)

In the meantime, please don’t out personal information about private citizens, even if it’s information that you can uncover via search engines, etc.

I watched a couple get arrested in a grocery store a few weeks ago. They were making the same arguments as this woman. The guy also got an additional charge of making physical threats to those that told them to put on masks, he was carrying a wood pole about 6 feet long and said he would have no problem using on anyone’s head. Their lawyer contacted me on Monday looking for something to use to get them off. The attorney was not pleased when I told her that I would in no way defend her clients actions and would look forward to testifying against them. Based on the fact she hung up on me means I won’t be going to court as a witness.

Perhaps call the district attorney and volunteer to testify against them?

Her name is Terry White, and using “karen” like this is inappropriate.

And the neanderthal Abbot ( I am being unfair to neanderthals, I know ) is one of the reasons why we will be wearing masks until 2025 or so.

When we have a pandemic on the ropes, that is not the time to go “Oh sorry, virus, go ahead and get back up and go to town here on my citizens!”. Idiot.

I finally watched the video in the OP. That is funny. Police brutality indeed.
