Any better today?
Nausea is less severe but still present, along with TMI issues. Throat still scratchy and I feel like hell. So I’d say not really?
Well, I’m sorry to hear that. Keep us posted (and don’t die).
Washington changed the law several years ago, so sauce can be sold in grocery stores, drug stores, etc.
Though there are two supermarkets and a Rite-Aid about four miles from here, the little seaside community I live in only has a small market. It’s bigger and better stocked than a convenience store, but very far from being a supermarket. Prior to the change in laws, there was also a state liquor store. After the change, the owners of the market said they didn’t want to compete with the local-run liquor store. The market continues to sell beer and wine as always, but they left the liquor to the liquor store.
The day after I posted this I went to the grocery store to grab a few things me and my mother needed. When I was checking out i heard someone coughing.
Now four days later I have some chest congestion and sporadic coughs. And a bout of diarrhea. (No fever though.) So now I am worried I got exposed again. None of it seems too severe though so I am not going to bother trying to get tested unless my symtpoms get worse.
And thanks for asking after me, that’s very kind of you.
I’m just selfishly unwilling to lose any of my Dope folks.
[SIZE=1]Hey, say that out loud. Dope folks, Dope folks, Dope folks…

We’re all stars now…in the Dope show
I went to the grocery store today, where almost everyone wore masks and kept a couple of cart-lengths away from each other, and after about ten minutes I realized what was missing-facial expressions, especially smiles. There were no conversations between shoppers, no joy, no sadness, no surprise and no smiles, and that depressed me just a mite.
To me, grocery shopping seems more hostile these days. As hard as some supplies are to come by, it feels like shoppers see each other as rivals for scarce resources.
See, I’m cool with this. When I go to the grocery store, I’m just on a mission to get what I need. In before-times I was always annoyed when someone talked to me at the store.
Brave New World.
In Texas, the guv declared that restaurants may deliver alcoholic drinks with takeout orders. Also, apparently you can get them from drive-thru windows if the establishment served liquor before. I can confirm the frozen margarita establishment near us has a Chik-Fil-A level drive through in operation. It winds all around the parking lot and out into the street, even longer than the Starbucks nearby.
So now my state has sort of closed liquor stores. They can still operate but you pull up to the store, someone takes your order and then brings it to your vehicle. Did it today and I can’t see how this is helping at all. I would not be surprised if they shut them down altogether soon.
Time to start making balloon wine. Hey, it’s not great, but it gets the job done.
Liquor stores - off-licenses - in the UK are still open. They do tend to sell basic goods as well and can save people a longer trip to try to buy milk or bread, so it’s justifiable, but it means that alcohol is actually easier to buy than milk (the places that only sell booze, like craft breweries, are also allowed to be open for delivery only). They’re all delivering and today I ordered booze mainly in order to also get lemonade, fruit juice and diet coke, which are otherwise hard to find without going out in person.
Due to a very bad experience with wine, long ago when I was young, anything fermented like wine is a non-starter with me. I’d face this pandemic sober first!
 Hey, get a grip man!
It’s funny how those things (and the taste in your mouth) stay with you. For me it was watermelon wine and an evening spent hugging the white wishing well… Ugh.
Didn’t anyone tell you guys that prison wine is not a good start on the wine tour?
