And although it’s hard to get much accurate information, N. Korea is a particular interest of mine and I devour everything that does come out. It seems that they do take actions to curry favor with the privileged elite in Pyongyang, without whose approval it’s felt the regime would collapse. So that shows that even they don’t feel they can just rule over every single citizen with an iron hand.

I see absolutely no reason that the National Guard wouldn’t join in the fights. Trump is running a full on fascistic campaign. He hit all the 14 characteristics when he pushed postponing the election, getting a third term for free, and trying to cripple the post office to change the votes.
It doesn’t matter if the election seems legit. The way he’s acted means people won’t believe it. It’s not going to just be the same small population fighting, and any military seen as defending Trump would be seen as fair targets.
So I fully expect the Guard to fight, same as the vets who went to Portland to try and defend people against the Feds there. There just are too many people who are only barely holding on at this point, holding that faith in the system will work.
