How Bizarre

Need a little help regarding one of my favorite songs, “How Bizarre” by Pauly Fuemana. Don’t laugh, you know you love it too!

I don’t understand the meaning of some of the lyrics.

Huh?

I didn’t know the hamsters ran on a 5 year delay.

I just always assumed the lyrics were basically nonsensical. Never occured to me to look for any real meaning! However, reading them here I’m given the impression that someone started trouble, newspeople came to cover it, and the instigators took off, leaving bystanders holding the bag, thereby illustrating and mocking the media’s tendency to interview whoever’s at the scene of an event, without bothering to ascertain if those individuals actually have any knowledge of what’s going on.

Or maybe I’m reading too much into it

LifeOnWry-I agree with you. I thought the whole point of the song was how bizarre it was.

I thought it was-

“the elephants sit down”

and instead of “before they know we’re gone”
I thought it was
“before the new world dawn”
which makes even less sense but I think sounds cooler.

itty bitty hijack:
My friend Cary ALWAYS screws up lyrics and one day I heard her singing to the tune of “How Bizarre”–

“HOW WAS I!?” doo doo doo etc…"HOW WAS I!? doo doo doo…
