I distinctly recall back in 1992 that I watched on TV extensive, unedited video of the trial in Simi Valley of the LAPD officers accused of excessive force. I have search on CSPAN and Google, but came up dry.
Anyone know how to retrieve that footage?
Dang, now there’s a memory. I can’t help you find the footage (I’m at work right now with neutered Internet access), but I was a senior in high school in Simi Valley at that time. It was a long, hot summer for white kids my age. We weren’t exactly wise to the world and believed all the scare stories and rumors we heard.
When I was a freshman in college, I didn’t have a car so one of my friends drove me back to Simi for something. When we got back, everyone in the dorm was curious as to how our trip went. He made up B.S. stories (for entertainment) about how the cops pulled us over and pulled the “your papers please” routine because we had a dark-skinned Indian in the car with us! Hah!
After that, everyone in my dorm referred to me as “KKK.”
