I live on the second floor of an apt and being a poor college student, do not want to indulge in the pricey luxury of cable, so I’m using bunny ears.
I’ve tried extending the coax to reach all different walls, positions, near windows, you name it… I just can’t come up with decent reception. What can I do to improve this?
There isn’t an antenna located on the roof to tap into either.
If yours is just the basic bunny ear antenna, buy one with a built in amplifier. If you have the kind with an amplifier I can’t think of anything else right now.
We used to come up with some really wild arrangements. Have you seen a metal slinky hanging between one before? There’s always the jumper wire to the bed springs.
Amplifier with splitter is the go. Maybe $20. Even if it doesn’t fix your problem it will be useful sometime. I am using mine to send my signal through the digital receiver and also straight to the TV because when the rain hits digital goes from perfect to nothing in 1 second.
When I was a kid, when the reception sucked my folks would make me hold the antenna with one arm and reach for the sky with the other. When I had a friend over we’d switch off.
I have this indorr antenna. It’s not a miracle but it works much better than rabbit ears and was cheaper than even one month of cable. (It is much bigger than it looks in the pictures tho’, from corner to corner, it’s probably two feet in width.)
