I’ve got a number of live concerts on MP3 that I’d like to burn to CD. Is there any software available that will allow me to make multiple tracks from a single file, so I can skip from song to song?
Does anybody know how to do this? Ideas, thoughts, constructive criticisms?
What software do you have? Nero, hopefully, since that’s what I know how to do it in.
In Nero, drag the MP3 to the Audio CD like normal. Then right-click, properties, then the “Indexes, Limits, Splits” tab. From there you can split it up into multiple tracks, using the Split button. It even shows the waveform, so you can see the song breaks.
You also have to take care to set the pause between tracks to 0 s, otherwise it will drop out between songs when listening straight through.
Just in case you don’t have Nero, you can use what I use: Gold Wave. The software will allow you to look at your mp3 file in waveform. You can select each track, cut them out, and then turn them into their separate files.
It’s shareware and very easy to use.
