So it looks like I may get a position as a coordinator for a summer program that has 17 year olds who are into computer science do labs and lectures at the university for three weeks. It can be hard to get the best kids to apply because such a huge shotgun approach is necessary, there isn’t enough time to visit an appreciable number of schools, etc.
Therefore I thought it would be really good if I could get the kids onto it on message boards, etc. Does anyone have any ideas or tips?
There’s always posters at schools if you can’t visit them personally. At my school, people from the community can put up posters advertising summer camps and classes among other things, so that might work. Otherwise, I’m not sure.
I’ve actually declined the potential offer, because I’ve got too much stuff going on. TAing 3 sections, thesis writing, and two other papers.
It’s the Computing Insights program at U of T. I think the URL for last year is www.cs.utoronto.ca/~ci ?
