Blood coming out of her wherever?
Biden is a Palestinian?
I don’t think calling a woman a pig is a very classy thing to do but it’s so in character I don’t know how this is getting the attention it’s getting.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about the “blood out of her whatever” comment.
Alternatively, they could try an indirect approach that Trump would probably not get.
After he insults a reporter, they could say “Pardon me, I did not hear that. Could you repeat it?”
If he doesn’t, (or does) other reporters should also claim they did not hear the comment. “Please repeat that last bit sir!” “We could not hear you at the back!” “Pardon? What was that again?”
Make him say it multiple times. It then loses its shock value and makes him look weak. Gets him frustrated.
This approach works well with small children, or the very stupid. So it would work with Trump.
I’ve also been wondering why this particular incident bothers me so much when he and his administration have done so many other worse, more cruel, unethical and illegal things. When I first watched that video clip it just enraged me. I think it’s because, despite understanding intellectually that all those other things are terrible, seeing trump sticking his finger in a reporter’s face and saying ‘quiet, piggy’ is bad in a very personal, visceral way that hits on an emotional level, kind of encapsulates him and his administration.
Certain moments stand out and last in the imagination that may not have seemed consequential at the time. Like the recent photo of him standing at his desk looking befuddled and irritated while others attend to the guy who fainted. As many others have said, that photo should stand as the symbol of his Presidency.
It’s like Stalin (another infamously cruel despot who trump will probably be grouped together with in history) said: “one person killed is a tragedy; a million people killed is a statistic”. A personal vignette like this is easier to wrap one’s head around then the entire awfulness of trump and his admin.
I think the press’s coverage of his funeral (if he ever dies) will be less than mournful.
Any good reporter avoids making themselves part of the story. Unfortunately, Trump knows that.
If you can’t stand the heat, insult the kitchen.
(Not you, but that seems to be Trump’s approach.)
I will officially retract my statement because I didn’t really mean it. I sometimes find myself getting angry at the press, and I have lapses in my objectivity. I detest low class insults as much as anyone else. especially from our commander in chief. I don’t think most of the public or at least those around him are fooled. I believe we overlook almost everything because Trump seems to be the only one willing to carry the ball. I don’t want to hijack the thread so I will stop there.
.
Right. As long as Trump hurts the right kind of people (i.e. carrying the ball), Republicans will turn the blind eye.
Well, he just called for the execution of several Democratic lawmakers, so that will probably push this off the front page.
Checking the NYT, this is already off the front page, but calling for the execution isn’t mentioned at all. Just another day in this insane timeline.
Sounds like your 4th grade teacher? Yeah, well….
That’s being generous. Kindergarten is needed, more like.
I think the “piggy” thing resonates because it is so relatable. We’ve all been called a nasty name at some point – or even calling someone else a nasty name. Very few of us have had the experience of ordering Venezuelan fishing boats to be blown up. We certainly understand one is worse than the other, but we only know what one of those feels like.
Here’s a cite for death for sedition.
President Donald Trump is accusing half a dozen Democratic lawmakers of sedition “punishable by DEATH” after the lawmakers called on U.S. military members to uphold the constitution and defy “illegal orders.”
President Donald Trump on Thursday accused half a dozen Democratic lawmakers of sedition “punishable by DEATH” after the lawmakers — all veterans of the armed services and intelligence community — called on U.S. military members to uphold the constitution and defy “illegal orders.”
The 90-second video was first posted early Tuesday from Sen. Elissa Slotkin’s X account. In it, the six lawmakers — Slotkin, Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, and Reps. Jason Crow, Chris Deluzio, Maggie Goodlander and Chrissy Houlahan — speak directly to U.S. service members, whom Slotkin acknowledges are “under enormous stress and pressure right now.”
“The American people need you to stand up for our laws and our Constitution,” Slotkin wrote in the X post.
Personal comments about reporters are ugly and meant to intimidate. They’re indicative of Trump’s mentality.
But saying that military veterans who are members of the opposite party’s leadership should be punished for giving out truthful advice is also indicative. Of Trump’s wanting an authoritarian dictatorship that would involve a complaisant military. Of the two, the latter concerns me more. A desperate cornered Trump is a dangerous animal who will strike without warning.
I can quite easily imagine groups of people who’d feel that way. People who wish they could tell the women in their own life to “Quiet, Piggy”, for one. And I’m sure there are other groups.
Some people who are insecure about their own worth want to push other people down.

Excellent response to this by Chris Murphy:
Of course Trump had to do something outlandish today. Dick Cheney’s funeral is getting all the media attention this morning. He needed to do something to put the attention back on him. Calling for the execution of certain Democrats might as well be it.
Not to derail the thread, since this is about Trump, but I realized recently the 4 years of Biden flew by so fast, I barely remember anything particular about it. Simply because it was normal. Meanwhile, 10 months of Trump feels like two years.
From FB…
“I hope “quiet piggy” are the last words he hears whispered into his ear
by a nurse as she squirts his morphine onto the floor.”
Is it just me or did this thread get moved to the pit, then back here ?
I did not see it moved. I could’ve missed it, tho’.
As far as I’m concerned ya’ll can talk about anything that gripes your goat about Trump. I don’t care.
Love the Chris Murphy response.
It’s an exemplification of how the POTUS can do and say whatever the fuck he wants and there will be no comeuppance.
At the risk of hijacking the thread,…
When I read “how the POTUS can do…”, I equate that with the office. Had Obama said something like that while in office, there would have been a whole bunch of comeuppance. Trump has no respect for the office, so I have no respect for him. I know some people do not want to say the name Trump (kinda like Voldemort in the Harry Potter universe), but name the name. This ain’t a problem with POTUS saying it, it’s a problem with the current POTUS saying it.
OK, end of hijack. Off my soapbox.
