How come a Creationist doesn't post somethin ....

I say tomato and you say tomoto. Yeah

Get this through your head. No competent scientist (and she is one, indeed) would ever think they could disprove psychic phenomena. She looked for confirmation, found none, and concluded that there was probably nothing there.

Unless you understand this very basic principle, your statements about science will continue to be laughable.

Laugh all you want, Yuk, Yuk, it up real big while you can.

Many of you may already know this, but arguing with Lekatt is or can be a very long winded and pointless proposition

It tends to involve a great deal of lekatting (unsurprisingly, perhaps) and ultimately goes nowhere.

The man is a legend. Read Mtgman’s comments and links in the latter thread before you bother going on.

I’ve been waiting 40 years for someone, anyone, to demonstrate the stuff you’re claiming to any level of believability. Though I gave up expecting it to happen 38 years ago.

Time for you to smell the coffee.

Don’t drink coffee, bad for you.

You gave up a couple years to soon. When Dr. Raymond Moody published his first book, we had the beginnings of evidence that consciousness continues after the death of the body.

After Moody came a steady procession of books by Phds, MD, and psychiatrists saying essentially the same thing. There were TV specials and plenty of talk shows including Larry King. After that the research began, I know of at least five universities doing research and showing the same thing Dr. Moody found years ago. There are web sites, hundreds of them, but probably only about 5 to 10 main ones including my own. The wording in the IANDS site, went from “biological trigger” to “some part of consciousness continues.”

Then came along the benchmark case of “Pam Reynolds surgery.” Fully taped, fully documented, skeptic proof, near death experience. It was partially televised and is published in many web sites. There is a DVD for the public coming out later this month with many NDEs, including the Pam Reynolds story. I have not seen it yet but will receive it as soon as it is available. “In search of Heaven” is the title.

Around the country more and more doctors whose patients experience NDEs are convinced there is a lot more to the event than skeptics say.

Here is one of the newest stories, just out today, now I don’t know where you have been hiding yourself not to stumble over some of the facts. As I said before, the war is over.

Lekatt, could you open a new thread for NDE stuff? It’s not really related to evolution/creationism at all. Please.

Whether man is spiritual or not is directly related creation, but
I will just quit posting in this thread, ok.

Re-enactment of startling discovery:

Dead person: “Can you hear me now?”
Researchers: “Yep”

Mildly humorous, RaftPeople, but we really don’t need another NDE hijack in this thread.

That reminds me of an exchange between Victor Borge and his audience at one performance:
BORGE: Can you hear me now?
PEOPLE IN BACK ROWS: No.
BORGE: Den how can you answer my qvestion?

And what, pray, has that to do with creationism or Darwin’s Finch? Or Socrates??

My favourite Victor Borge routine (although I never saw this one live - just heard it on vinyl) was his I-used-to-give-piano-tuition-to-this-kid-when-I-first-arrived-in-America-penniless-from-Denmark routine. He hears that this boy, now grown up, is in the audience, can’t believe it, and asks him up on stage. (It’s his son, of course.)

They chat for a while and then Borge asks the young man to play something. He starts to play the Blue Danube waltz, with Borge looking on and muttering that he can’t believe it, etc. Then when the ex pupil gets to the main tune and plays the last two chords completely off key, Borge exclaims “That’s him!”

We are Devo!

Like the thread I was replying to, this smacked of the Al Jaffee Snappy-Answers-to-Stupid-Questions shtick.

I have that on the album Borgering on Genius, in which the guy plays the piece wrong and Borge says, “Oh, how I wish I had starved!” and “Play like a man–play like another man!”
I commented when making the recording from an album to a cassette (I had the mike open), “Borge taught him all right!”

Incidentally, I had been asked to muster some evidence of the rude and boorish treatment given to a “Creationist” or “fundie” who posts messages to the Teeming Millions. Since I don’t know how to construct a hyperlink with the reformatted message board, all I can say is that there are posts criticizing the position of Jehovah’s witnesses on blood transfusion, and discussing Johnny Hart’s “B. C.” comic strip where it touches on religious subjects (directly or tangentially), as examples. That’s all I can reply with right now.

Try:

[thread=nnnnnnn]blah-blah-blah[/thread] or [post=nnnnnnn]yak-yak-yak[/post]

Where nnnnnnn is the number in the URL of the relavant thread or post.

Or just list the title and relevant post[s] and we’ll figure it out.

Stranger

OK. I now see that the forums’ lists of threads do include a thread number. Fine. When I have time I’ll prepare the necessary links. Thanks.
