When I try to do so, I’m asked to enter my username and password, which I do, but then the screen for entering said username and password just pops right back up again, as if I got it wrong . . . **but I know I didn’t get it wrong.[/] I even had my password sent to me to make sure (and yes, I’m aware that the sign-in is case-sensitive). What’s wrong?
Not too long ago, I asked the same question. It tells us at the bottom of the page that “Messages can be edited by their author” and “Messages can be deleted by their author,” but they can’t be. From what I understand, editing and deleting were once permitted, but this is no longer the case. I also understand that changing the message on the bottom of the page is too difficult, so it remains there to confuse us.
The ability for users to edit/delete their posts is disabled. In my memory, that function was never available. In our opinion, it leaves too much latitude for abuse by posters intent on causing disruption. They could, for example, make a post stating some outrageous claim and after several people post refutations, they could remove their post and cause confusion.
Sorry 'bout that.
