How common is this?

Two people meet each other, but are unable to date because of their circumstances, this leads them both to make sure they never lose contact, but make sure they can date other people, years pass, and eventually they have the oppourtunity to meet again and now date…and within a little while they marry/or live together…
Now I have to admit, I’m in the first part of that account, and was wondering if I had any chance of the latter happening, am I hoping for too much? I mean I’ve done alot of thinking and cannot come up with any answers…I spoke to Jet about the whole ‘relationship’ thing, she was really insightful and helpful (thanks babe) I just want a broader opinion on the matter. Thanks for your time

It’s something that’s possible, but it isn’t something likely enough to make it worth hoping for.

Especially as hoping for the situation to arise might make you shut yourself off from other opportunities - and those opportunities might turn out to be even better.

One of my aunts had a sweetheart years ago, but they both moved on and married others, good long-term marriages that lasted 40-50 years, but my aunt’s husband died, and then the fellow’s wife.

They got back in touch, and got married a couple of years ago, radiating joy and contentment.

Lets hope I don’t have to wait that long, and if I do…I guess it will be worth the wait

A friend of mine met her old high school sweetheart on a trip home to bury the last of her relatives or something last chance like that, and the spark was still there, and they wed… and then had a bitter divorce a few years later…
