Hmm - I don’t recall seeing pictures of Marx, Lenin or Chairman Mao the last time I was on the Berkley campus, and if they aren’t there they’re nowhere. I’m sure there are some Marxist professors floating around, there are even some who voted for Bush.
But I agree that we should teach that Communism is wrong, since Communism is really a type of religion - which is why they were so dead set against the competition. Think about it - they got the infallible holy book, they got the priesthood of Comrades, they got the holy images on the walls. Some quote the Bible, some quote Mao’s little red book. Both fundamentalist Communists and fundamentalist religionists have the answer, and any data to the contrary (whether bones or 20 consecutive years of unexpectedly bad weather) either gets ignored or apologized away.
