Because tonight i popped 3 of them and proceeded to smoke a few bowls and 2 joints. Man I was so fucked up it is great. I was just wondering if there are side effects to taking xanx. Is it addictive? Like if I only do it twice will I get withdrawal symptons? thanx

I’ve heard things about them from people. That was just the first time I’ve tried it. Just wondering if it is bad. I know i should’nnt have taken them. oh well.

P.S. - It isn’t very hard to research various pharmaceuticals on the web - you should do so before ingestion.
Were they:
0.25 mg (white, oval, scored), 0.5 mg (peach, oval, scored)
1 mg (blue, oval, scored), or 2 mg (white, oblong, multi-scored)?
Three of the 2mg ones could cause problems, most likely central nervous system depression. This means you breath less – in extreme cases you stop breathing. This (dangerous) effect is additive with other CNS depressants, like alcohol.
I don’t know what the effects would be with pot, I guess you might by now.
You should check someplace like WebMD if you want more info. If you start having trouble breathing, or staying awake, be sure to call 911, then write down what you’ve taken so they don’t screw around wondering while your brain starves for oxygen.

I was prescribe Xanaz a few years back because I suffer from raging PMS. I would take half a pill, just enough to chill me out and keep me from clawing my own face of and then turning around and strangling a co-worker with the telephone cord. A whole one would make me feel vaguely pleasant. It took me about six months to get through the prescription, and there were only thirty pills in the bottle. I only took it if I really needed it.
As far as I know, Xanax is a fairly mild tranquilizer. It can be addictive if it’s abused, but you won’t get hooked if you only take it a couple of days in a row.
The affects are fading now. I think i took the .25mg pretty week ones. It was a very pleasant feeling after i took them. I smoked the 2 joints with 2 other people so it wasn’t all for me. And the bowl is very small. I almost passed out once though. And get this. I come home and my mom asked me what did we do. I say “not much”. She says let me see your eyes. So she come up to me and looks in my eyes to see if they are bloodshot. I was stoned out of my mind. And she didn’t think my eyes were red or something. So she just left my room. Got lucky…
My friend is a little heavier into drugs than me. He does coke and meth sometimes. He took 9 xanax’s. He’s freakin crazy.

Xanax (alprazolam) is a benzodiazepine, related to drugs like Valium, Librium, Ativan and Halcion. You won’t get withdrawal symptoms after taking them only a few times and I don’t think there’d be any interaction with marijuana, but whatever you do, don’t EVER take Xanax or any benzo with alcohol.
Xanax, Valium, Librium, Ativan, Dalmane, Tranzene,
and several others with cute names are all benzodiazepines.
All have a tranquilizing effect on the central nervous system. All are potentially addictive. They vary only in strength and/or onset or duration of effects. All are potentially addictive. Generally, they are not dangerous unlessabused with alcohol. Too much and the heart and lungs tend to mellow out a bit too much…like, they stop working. Use caution. Otherwise, have fun. They are quite pleasant, I must agree.

After my wife left me, I was devasteted and developed panic associated problems. My doc prescibed Xanax.
Not being a big drug taker type , I did serious research on this drug. Now, it’s got it’s detractors, but of all the drugs in the 'pam family (diazapam<valium>, etc.) it is the most benign. It is very hard to O.D. on the stuff. My doctor said you would probably go to sleep first (think ‘beer’). I was up to ‘6 purple footballs’ a day at one time - Dr.'s orders I swear. How did I function? Your body develops a tolerance very quickly. Too quickly for my taste 
Being depressed I also drank a lot during this period and found out the dirty little secret of Xanax users. Xanax CURES hangovers! And yes I mixed the two frequently ( you’ve got to remember I didn’t feel I had too much to live for). Got real messed up but no harm done.
Yes if you take enough of it for an extended period you can become addicted physialogically. But it takes a fair amount on a REGULAR basis. And it is easy enough to taper off - it’s not heroin, after all.
Non-users give it a bad rap but if you have panic problems, it is truly a miracal drug. and a safe one at that. I now only take it when I fly but for the record I have taken 6 or 7 in one evening (1 mg ea.) with no side effects. Except euphoria then drowsiness.
I have never smoked pot so I no knowledge of interaction with it.
All in all, my take is it’s safe enough. But now I’ve got my life back together, I generally don’t recommend recreational use of any kind.

Xanax is a drug from the family of drugs known as benzodiazepines. Benzodiazepines are extremly safe drugs. It would literally take bottles for you to OD. Generally the lethal dose is over 1,000 times the therapeutic dose. So you don’t have to worry about ODing. Xanax is an intermediate acting benzodiazepine, and it is the preferred agent in treating panic attacks. Dependence (psycohological and physical) can occur with benzodiazepines if high doses of the drug are given for a prolonged period. Abrupt discontinuation will cause withdrawal symptoms (which are more severe with the shorter acting benzodiazepines).
Smoking Marijuana while on xanax (for example) will just make you drowsy and serene. Not a bad combination (hey been there done it many times). However, mixing alcohol with benzodiazepines is not a good idea. Extreme drowsiness will occur, but the problem is these two depressants potentiate each other. The combination of the two is a larger effect that the sum of the two individual effects. The result of the combination is that it will slow your vital functions (heart rate and breathing) to low levels. If you pop xanax and get drunk these vital functions could get dangerously low. So taking a bunch of xanax and then and getting tanked is not a good idea. I think some people here are confusing xanax with a barbiturate. In which combining alcohol with it would kill you. Anyways, have fun and don’t do anything stupid.
Oh, and by the way you might wanna get some Visine and put a few drops in your eyes if mom’s around.
Everyone I ever knew went by the opposite rule : never take Xanax WITHOUT alcohol. 
Of course, these people are responsible drinkers. A single beer (or even half a beer) is enough to really make benzo’s kick in. Now if you go drinking a six pack or a case of beer, you could be flirting with disaster. It sucks drinking a lot of beer with benzo’s anyway. It takes every once of energy you have just to stay awake. Not nearly worth the risk, IMHO.

As an RN I give Xanax more than any other antianxiety drug except Ativan. It is generally considered safe. As for mixing with several other mood altering substances a little caution should be observed.
Pot–no big deal, I have never treated anyone suffering from marijuana OD. Biggest threat would be eating too much.
Beer–several would be fine as long as you are not taking another pill with each beer. That would be bad.
Liquor and nerve pills gives me the willies, I have seen more than one person do serious harm to themselves and others but not in the way you might think. This combo seems to remove all inhibitions and common sense. You know, they don’t call them “panty droppers” for nothing…
As an aside, if drug testing is in any way a possiblity in your life, It takes 2-3 days to get xanax out of your system; valium takes AT LEAST 7-10 days. Marijuana 2-6 weeks and despite what others say, no amount of water, tea, or clean out will speed it up because it is stored in the fat cells and released back into the blood stream as the fat cells break down eventually being broke down by the liver and excreted in the bowel. I livedwith a guy who 45, taking Xanax several times every day and occasionally mixing them with bourbon and METH. Didn’t die, said the Xanax helped the meth low the next day. I don’t recommend it, he is about the dumbest (and luckiest)adult human I’ve ever met.
