By that I mean, how many people have contacted other people regarding your talents and then what was the result? And how many degrees of seperation was there in the most extreme case?
My example;
Primary job I’m a union electrician;
I’m contracted out to a fortune 500 company that I work for during the week;
I’ve done a few jobs for the people that work here (on the side, at their homes);
One of those contacts talked to a fellow band member (they’ve done gigs at Summerfest) about the work I did at his house and the fellow band memeber hired me for some work;
Fellow band memeber also told his uncle and neighbor about me;
Uncle hired me for some work;
Uncle’s daughter likewise;
Neighbor hired me;
Neighbor’s old college friend heard of me and gave me some work;
Neighbor’s mom hired me;
Neighbor’s mom’s landlord hired me.
Band Member is also (coincidentily) currently working with one of the people who I’ve done side work for here at the contract job.
So, the longest string would go, Primary job, contract job, fellow worker (at F-500), fellow workers band member, band members neighbor, neighbor’s mom, neighbor’s mom’s landlord.
That would be six.
