I’m most interested in that thread, though. My jaw still drops a bit when I think of her attitude: why doesn’t this middle aged woman just let me fuck her husband?
I’ll say this for it: the Dope is broadening. 
Remember the guy who made out with that woman, and she had a rich boyfriend that she was allegedly going to dump? They didn’t go “all the way,” preferring to wait. But then the bf was going to buy her a computer for her birthday and she ended up sounding like a total user/gold digger. The OP regretted it but I don’t know whether he told her off or let it just fade to black etc.
And, I don’t know if he ever got his calculator back.
I was wondering about the curious parcel one. It took too long for him to post the “solution” so I gave up paying attention but I wonder from time to time how that turned out.

Nope-sorry, but never heard of you! I think the poster was** Alistair McCello** and they were definitely engaged (can’t remember if his fiancee was a Doper as well) and his parents didn’t approve due to either religion or race or some such. That’s how he left us–parents not speaking to him and he and his future wife moving in together.
I’m not sure how someone ends up marrying the child of their father’s ex-mistress, but I’m glad I didn’t have to do the seating arrangements at the wedding.
Lobotomy--I vaguely remember that thread. She was surprised that some here expressed amazement and disgust that she would wait until she got the computer or whatever before she ended it with him. I think she just stopped posting–the righteous indignation was too much for her. 
I’d like to know how that turned out as well.
