38% (Yankee). A definitive Yankee.
I wonder how much internal migration within the U.S. affects the scores, or people’s perception of the scores. For example, a lot of folks from North Carolina moved to Washington state to work in the logging camps. I wouldn’t be surprised if folks in those parts of Washington scored more “Dixie” than “Yankee,” even though they’re geographically northern.
76% Dixie, myself. I sent this test to my mother also and she was horrified to score only a 58%, so she clicked again and again on “calculate score” without changing any of her answers, like the spoilt Southern belle that she is. Her score got higher and higher until she got a 100%, with which she was satisfied.
Hmmm 73% Dixie, not a bad score for an Aussie.
They have me as 48% Yankee – barley into the category. It makes some sense. My fathers people are Pennsylvania Germans who immigrated to Ohio when the territory opened after the revolution. The old man was a native of Cleveland. His mother, my grandmother was a Canadian Scot from London, Ont. My mother’s people were all post -Civil War Swiss and German immigrants to Wisconsin and Chicago. I grew up in Central Ohio (Logan County) and Iowa. I suppose 48% Yankee means Great Lakes and Midwest.
We call it Beggars’ Night. What’s this Cabbage Night stuff? That takes some ‘splaining. Do some people traditionally eat boiled cabbage on Halloween Eve?
81% Dixie. I’ve never been north of Virginia. My Grandmother conidered Minute Rice a sin against God.
52% Dixie.
Which is surprising since I’m scottish.
Seems like I’d fit in well in chicago.
94% (Dixie). Is General Lee your father?
