How Yankee are you?

A Yankee or a Southerner?

44% Yankee (barely). Considering I lived in the Great Lakes states 42 years before moving to Virginia, it fits.

70% (Dixie). Just under the Mason-Dixon Line

WOW! Funky. I have never lived below the Mason-Dixon line.

100% (Dixie). Is General Lee your father?

Uh. What? I was born and raised in Tennessee but no. This test is full of it.

53% (Dixie). Odd, since I grew up in Canada!

49% northerner (I refuse to be a yankee – Let’s Go, Mets).

Wow. 55% Dixie, just above the Mason-Dixon Line. Kind of weird.

84% Dixie! Not surprising, because I’ve lived in Texas and Kentucky. Looking at the responses, I’m more of a Great Lakes southerner.

LOL! 52% Dixie.
Um, I’m Scottish.

And yes I am wasting time today - h ow did you guess?

71% Dixie. Odd.

Age 0-7 Omaha, NE
Age 7-16 Shawnee, KS
Age 16-18 Overland Park, KS
Age 18-22 South Bend, IN
Age 22-23 Jackson, MS
Age 23-26 South Bend, IN
Age 26-29 Indianapolis, IN

This test has no veracity.

“26% (Yankee). You show a very strong Yankee score.”

45%

I’ve lived for:

  • five years in California
  • two years in Seattle
  • two years in Washington, DC
  • five years in Atlanta
  • twelve years in Florida
  • seven years in Ohio
  • five years in Baltimore
  • four years overseas

45% Yankee; I was born in NJ, but have lived in Texas since before I can remember. I can only assume it’s due to my metro area location and having parents who were either fully Yankee (Dad) or well-travelled Army brat (Mom).

12%. Top 20% of all the Yankees.

sigh

Let’s see. I was born in Queens, NY. Grew up in Queens and Long Island. For all but 4 years of my life (thanks Uncle Sam), I’ve lived in Queens or Long Island. My father was born in Manhattan, my mother moved there when she was 10ish.*

“52% (Dixie). Just above the Mason-Dixon Line”

Not a very good test.

*From South Carolina, so that may partially explain the score.

I registered as 70% (Dixie), just under the Mason-Dixon Line.

Which is odd, considering I’ve spent most of my life in New Jersey, and the rest of it in either Massachusetts or Maine.

Huh.

45%. Being born and raised in California tends to bias the score upwards.

57% (Dixie). Just above the Mason-Dixon Line

As I’ve lived in Maryland all my life, but consider myself more cosmopolitan, that’s pretty spot-on.

I have to say as far as quiz page coding goes, this one is well designed, even if the test itself is kinda questionable.

Whoever developed this test is number’n a hake, i’ve lived most of my life (can’t say all my life, as i ain’t dead yet) in New England, in Maine, NH, and Vermont, yet i only come up as 43% yankee

then again, i have spent most of my life in the more generic, urbanized areas of NE, not much time off in the boonies or on the coast of Northern Maine with the Spidah’ huntahs and fishermen

Daoh, that test don’t know nothin, i tell you…

39% Yankee. It’s actually pretty accurate for me. I’ve spent my whole life in Massachusetts but I was raised by a New Yorker. I get about half my habits from my mom.

The sandwich one threw me for a minute. I use both grinder and hoagie.

(channeling Adam Sandler)
Hoagies and grinders, hoagies and grinders
navy beans, navy beans, navy beans, navy beans.
hoagies and grinders, hoagies and grinders
navy beans, navy beans…MEATLOAF SANDWICH.

Sloppy joe slop sloppy joe yeah
sloppy joe slop sloppy joe ooh-yeah

Damn IT! Get out of my HEAD!!

48% Yankee. Odd, since there ain’t nothing north of me but Canada.
