How do I change the spell-checking dictionary in Word 2004 for Mac?

I’m trying to change the dictionary for my Word 2004 program.

I want to use English (UK). I’ve gone to the Spelling dialogue box under the Tools menu, and it says it’s set for English (UK), but it’s clear from some of the corrections that it’s making that it’s using English (US).

How do I fix this?

Make sure the Word menu, Preferences,** click Spelling and Grammar, and make sure the Suggest from Main Dictionary only check box is checked ** Word then suggests correct spellings.

But be careful, now I am having trouble turning US English back on.

it didn’t take. it’s still says it’s set for English (UK), but it’s clearly checking for US spellings.
