Reading this post resurrected a question about the advisory board. Does just anyone get in line to contribute an article? How does one apply? Can I peruse the outstanding questions and, upon finding a question that I have suitable knowledge to answer, compose an article, and submit it to the SDAB?
And completely unrelated: Is my use of comma’s correct? When I write, I have noticed that I seem to use them frequently.
If you are serious, email C K Dexter Haven. Tell him what sort of things you feel qualified to write about, and he’ll look to see what sort of questions within your area are outstanding. Writing a contribution does not automatically mean you’ll become a memeber of the SDSAB; you’ll need to do more than one, most likely, and the quality must meet the Dope’s editorial standards.
I’d lose the apostrophe if I were you.
In my slightly dislexic mind, the sentence started as “is my comma’s use correct”, which didn’t make much sense so I rephrased but forgot to lose the apostraphe.
Thanks QED.
ARGHHH! THE SPELLING! IT BURNS!
Pssst…Q.E.D.…you forgot about the “charitable donation”.
Yes, but we’re trying not to frighten off the new…umm…blood. So to speak, of course.
I think that goes without saying. After all, I had to contribute to the SD just for the chance to hang out long enough to ask the question of “how can I contribute further?”
I know this is more of a stylistic nitpick, but I tend to go with “ARGHHHH!”
