How do I disable Flash in Netscape 7.1?

I am getting sick and tired of all the flash advertising that is on nearly every website I visit. The worst offender is Yahoo Mail. I have AdBlock installed, and there must be 1500 things blocked in it, and every time I see a new one, it gets blocked, too. But there are still more. I’ve been all through the preferences and I don’t see an option to disable it. Is it something in Windows? Can I disable it at all?

They must be getting wise to ad blocking. As recently as last month, all they had at Yahoo Mail was images and frames you could block. Now 99% of the ads are flash, and no matter how many times I add them to the block list, they keep showing up. Help!

Have you tried Flashblock?

Sorry, that link was for Firefox. For Netscape 7, try this link.

Thank you for the link. I installed it, but it didn’t seem to work as advertised. It would also require you to amass a giant list of blocked items. So what I did in the end was to go here and get the uninstaller for Flash. Now I won’t get any of it.

The problem is, these weasels who advertise with it have found a way to make the non-flash images unblockable, and make it appear as though the iframes where the ads reside have no URL, so you can’t block them, either. Bastids!
