I have a problem with my computer, and need your help if you would be so kind. When I try to recieve files from people in certain programs, like Yahoo IM, it wont let me because it says I’m behind a firewall. It doesn’t do it ALL the time on AIM though. I also have a problem allowing people to view my web cam at times, and feel the firewall will be the problem there also. Here we go…
Not my area of expertise but assuming this is a home PC do you actually have a firewall software program running or a hardware firewall (many are built into routers) or is the firewall warning flag by Yahoo IM incorrect?
If you do have firewall running they typically have permission settings in the setup sections that allow you modify firewall parameters.
The Windows XP OS also has built in firewall options you can set. Go to windows explorer and enter “firewall” into the search window and it will bring up a setup wizard for setting firewall parameters.
