… on the net? In particular, I’m trying to find a previous version of Napster. The current version is buggy as hell.
And before people jump on me for trying to find an earlier release of Napster, I’ve had the same problem trying to find previous versions of other software titles as well. In particular, previous drivers for the Voodoo video card series.
Is there a or resource site out there that carries previous releases of software?
I’ve tried all kinds of searches to no avail. Any kind of help, or thought on where I should look, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
If you know the exact version number of the program or driver you want, try do a search on it with google.com. If you’re lucky, you’ll find some links that offer downloads. It worked the one time I tried it, when I needed an older version of Macster. 'Course, I’d think it’s most likely to work with shareware or smaller programs.
As for software archives, the only ones I know about are Mac sites, and I don’t think they’ll help you much.
Good luck.
Thanks Audie.
That’s the one search term I haven’t tried yet, because I don’t remember the previous version numbers.
Sorry SmackFu, those links were dead.
But it wasn’t a lost cause, however, you gave me a hint in trying different search terms. And with that I found what I was after (For the Napster part). For anyone else interested in previous versions of Napster, you can find them here. I found that link at linklog.com.
Thanks for giving me the nudge in the right direction. Sometimes the obvious is the route.
