How do I get a grease stain out of microfiber?

Eek! WhyBaby set a Chicken Fry (don’t ask, it was late, Mama no cook, Mama drive through BK; Mama’s rep as crunchy granola hippie mom now in danger) on the couch last night, and while I got it off quickly, it left a mark. The couch fabric is that snazzy newish “microfiber” - looks like suede, resists water and stains dealy. It’s been great until now and nothing’s marked it, but I’m afraid it’s not at all oil resistant.

Any suggestions for cleaning it? I’m not even sure if you can use regular upholstry cleaner on it - will it mess up the nice surface?

Try shampoo. especially Prell concentrate, if you can find it. Used to get the grease stains out of my polyester-double-knit Pizza Hut uniform quite nicely. Designed to work on oily stuff, after all.

Microfiber products are synthetics.
Is it a removable cushion cover you can take to the dry cleaners?
If not use a good fabric spray on cleaner according to directions.

I suggest you try talc or baking soda-- some kind of powder. Rub it into the stain, let it sit for a while, and then vaccuum it up. It’s something you could try that wouldn’t hurt the fabric like a liquid might.
