How do I get hair stuff out of my new couch?

And murdered dog?

Captain likes to steal stuff in tubes and such and chew the tops off. I don’t know why and he sneaks around with it these days and grrr!!! and we’re cleaning and organizing so he’s finding a lot more of them lately.

And two days ago we spent hours putting together a new couch from Ikea, which came in six boxes.

So, you can see where the two collide. Unfortunately, the new couch doesn’t hide a goopy mess like the old one did. Here’s the ingredients in the hair goop:

Vegetable Glycerin, Olive Oil, Avocado Oil, Oat Flour, Lecithin, Sucrose Stearate, Sucrose Distearate, Magnesium Stearate, Citrus Rind Oil, Oat Oil, Chlorophyll, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Nettle Leaf Powder, Rosemary Leaf Powder, Vegetable Oil, Fragrance

Here’s the couch:

We have the red, which is a nubby fabric. It says dry clean.

It happened in the crevice between chaise and rest of couch. I wiped out what I could, but it left a dark stain (which might dry, I don’t know). What should I use on it? Can I use anything? I don’t want to have to dry clean cushion covers I JUST PUT ON with great effort. I’m sure the oils and glycerin are what’s causing the stain - anything I can treat that with?

Oils are best removed with detergent; for upholstery, a carpet cleaner will work, using the roper attachment. You might try a hidden area to see if it discolors or fades the fabric. You might also try a spray-on spot remover for carpets.
