How do I get aviator sunglasses to not fall off my face?

I’m not used to wearing sunglasses, I bought some ‘mad men’ style Aviator sunglasses with bayonet temples. The temples don’t seem to bend more towards the temple, and the glasses slip off slowly. How do keep them on?

Avoid Immelmanns and barrel rolls.

Sounds like you bought a pair that are too big for your head. Sorry I don’t think there’s a solution other than new glasses.

Superglue?

If you’re averse to superglue, they make little pads you put on the nose pieces that help.
For example, this offer from Amazon:

You could also try bending the frame or the temple pieces inward.

Or it could just be as Moonlitherial says.

I had to give up on aviators altogether - my face is the wrong shape for them. I love Maui Jim sunglasses now. They’re expensive, but worth it.

Well, Mr…How do you pronounce this? Vol…de…mort? Well, sir, I think you have more problems than just your Aviators falling off. But I’m the best ENT in the business, and if anyone can help you, I can.

Bravo, sir.

The good ole Opti-Grab.

Clown nose. They won’t get past that.

Bend the part that goes behind your ears a little more, it shortens them from back to front so they don’t slide down your nose. If they sit too high on the nose after that but stop sliding, you can spread the nose pieces a little so the glasses sit a little lower. (I need to pinch mine together more, usually, to get the rims off my cheeks, so ymmv.) Adjust as needed. It might take a few days of wearing to get them just right.

(Don’t be a Jerk!)

You need a pair with ‘Riding temples’ - back in the day, you could always get them for Bausch and Lomb aviators, don’t know about now.

Duct tape.

Nail gun.

Your Dave Clarks will hold them on.

But you’ll need five of them.

Bayonet temples are hard to fit. If they slip too easily, they may be too loose, but they also may be too tight. (Try squeezing a big marble as tight as you can between your thumb and forefinger to get an idea of what can happen.)

Depending on the cost of the sunglasses and how much you wear them it may not be worth the effort, but if you really want them to fit well, you’ll have to find an optician who knows how to adjust them. Unfortunately, unless you’re lucky enough to live in a state that licenses opticians, it will probably be hard to find one. Your best bet would be to ask if they’re ABO certified.

Get a bigger nose, obviously.
