OK, school is winding down- the last of my final exams are this coming week, then I have a five-week break, which means a lot of time on my hands.
I’m considering reworking my research paper that I wrote for English class into a full-length article. My subject is the legalization of marijuana.
I would like to have it published as an e-publication. However, a search for places to submit the thing turned up nada. Plenty of outfits you can purchase e-books and articles from, but I couldn’t come up with anything as far as ways to submit something for publication.
Anyone out there know of a site where I could potentially submit my work, that pays actual money?
Getting published (“e-” or not) and making money are two different things. To be published, you have to make your work public. Online, all you have to do is buy some webspace, and put your information there. Whether anyone takes any notice of it is another matter. It sounds like what you’re looking for is something that doesn’t actually exist - an online publisher that has enough subscribers to pay the authors a decent return…how many e-publishers have you paid money to? Probably none? The economics of publishing are basically the same online as in print form…either you’ve something that will sell, or you’re prepared to pay.
As for “e-books”, that people can buy online and read on their screens: they are dying. A major chain recently announced they won’t do e-books anymore. (With or without trademark.) So there really is no prospect of doing that.
