How do I get my email settings back?

I am using Internet Explorer on Windows 8. One day everything was working normally, and the next day I couldn’t get on the internet, just the browser frame with no content. After a few calls to tech support with no results from anything they suggested, they sent out a technician who replaced the connection box with a newer version. I was now back on line.

However, there was a new problem. Before this I could get into my email accounts on yahoo and gmail just by clicking the respective icons on the favorites bar. Now I have to sign in each and every time, despite having the “keep me signed in” box selected. The same thing happened to my Pandora account.

What settings do I change to get back to where I don’t have to sign in each time?

“Connection box” being the modem?
That shouldn’t have changed anything, but I’d suggest deleting your cookies, that should fix everything…maybe.

You can delete just the cookies for those sites if you want to (otherwise you’ll notice that you have to resign into everything the first time you go to it).

I don’t know if this’ll fix it, but it would be my first guess without being able to troubleshoot it myself and only having very little information.

It’s possible that you have accidentally switched from the full desktop version of Internet Explorer, to the (shitty) ‘app’ version. (The 'browser frame 'comment makes me think this is a possibility)

If so, I don’t think it would have been a direct result of the change of your router, but you might have accidentally done it in your first attempts to fix.

There’s some advice in the link below on how to correct this problem.

Thanks for the help.

I finally figured out how to let the cookies stay in the jar a little longer.

Bumped.

AOL Email now shows ALL of my incoming emails, whether or not I’ve read them yet, and not just my unread ones, as it used to. Emails I’ve read but want to save keep getting pushed farther and farther down the screen by each day’s new emails. Is there a way to change the settings to JUST show my unread emails?

The webmail version or the actual client/portal/downloaded AOL program. It probably doesn’t matter anyways.

Have you tried accessing and reading the mail on a different machine to see what happens?

What about right clicking on one of the pieces of mail (read or unread) in the New folder and clicking ‘mark as read’ to see if that moves it.

It’s the downloaded AOL program.

Accessing and reading on a different machine makes no difference.

I’d rather not have to right-click on every email, but to have the system itself display them all differently, as it used to (I never reset it myself - this must be some AOL “improvement”).
