Gmail; something odd

When I’m logged into Gmail and I google something, I see a sign-in button at the top of the screen, like I have to log in. But I am already logged in. And even when I see that, I can still access my emails, contacts etc., so it’s not like my browser keeps logging me out. I am logged in, but it looks like I’m not. And when I click on the sign-in button, the page simply refreshes and then it shows that I am logged in. Every time.

Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this, and how to fix this? Should I be worried? That only seems to happen in Safari browser, not any others. I ran malware scans on both phones I use and nothing was found, all clear.

Sometimes deleting cookies and cache can fix this. Here’s how to do that on Safari:

Thank you. I’ve done that already. Still the same problem.

I don’t know if what I recently experienced is related, but I had a Gmail email account that gave me fits for about a week. It wouldn’t receive mail unless I rebooted my machine. I also cleared cookies to no avail. I later learned that another Gmail user experienced the same issues.

The problems finally resolved on their own. I think the problem is with Gmail and only they can fix it.
