It’s not a dead body is it? You have to wait until the 2nd Saturday of the month for bulk pickup if it is.
Also, if you come in the morning and put your trash there, WTF do I care?

Did you stand over him smugly while he did it?
You wouldn’t care if not all of your trash was picked up because I used up all the available space in your garbage can? You wouldn’t care if your garbage company started charging you higher rates or made you go up a size in garbage cans because of the volume of the waste they were picking up at your location?
manson1972, maybe it’s different where you live, but I have to pay for garbage removal. I get to put out ONE can a week, and if I have more garbage than fits in that can, I have to pay extra to put out a second can. If I found that someone had dumped their garbage in my can and filled it up, I would have to pay more that week to get my garbage taken away. It’s EXACTLY like stealing electricity from your neighbor; they have to pay for your usage.
No, I stood and chatted with the state cop who made sure the dumpster was totally emptied, though.![]()
I’m charged $125 to have my four yard dumpster emptied … ten minutes later you fill it up completely … that’s called “theft of services” … either I pile my own garbage on the ground beside the dumpster or I call in and write a check for $125 to have the company empty it again …
If I’m out $125, that makes you a thief … and you have no moral objection to this?
Are you under the impression that the dumpster owner hauls away full dumpsters without charging anyone for that service?
I imagine manson1972’s biggest problem is people stealing from him …
Sorry, my trash pickup doesn’t work that way. It doesn’t matter how much is out there or how many cans are there, it all gets picked up. The trash fees come out of my HOA fees.
I’m able to draw a distinction between someone filling up your 4 yard dumpster causing it to need to be emptied again, and a guy throwing a flat screen TV in there.
Other than my bike being stolen when I was 10, I’ve never been a victim of theft. So no, it’s not my biggest problem.
Perhaps you should start. Not only illegal, but a un-neighborly and churlish to boot. No, not by biggest worry in the world, but I pay for a place to put my used cat litter and the paper the raw chicken was wrapped in. I’m going to be pretty pissed if the dumpster which gets emptied on Friday is full by Wednesday because someone’s too lazy to dispose of their unwanted property correctly.
Nah, I think I’m good. Perhaps you should start thinking how an apartment complex with 500 units and the dumpsters that are provided for them could somehow possibly have to pay more when 1 guy puts a flat screen TV into one of them. ESPECIALLY when all he has to do is GIVE it to someone who lives there, or pay them $5 or such, and then they could put the exact same TV in the exact same dumpster.
You lack the authority to draw that distinction, unless you happen to be the one paying for that dumpster.
64 units. And if someone pulled that particular disingenuous stunt to get around the rules, no, nothing’s going to happen. It’s still rude.
So you belong to a HOA where all the trash is picked up no matter what, right? How about putting your theory to the test? Why don’t you go out next time your neighbors put out their trash and add yours to theirs. No one will care, right? It won’t matter since it all gets picked up, right? I’m sure everyone will be fine with it. And you can tell them that next week, they can put all their trash with yours. I mean since you’re fine with it and all.
Sure, no problem! I live in a row of townhouses, so all the trash is pretty much next to each other.
Try again with your gotchas!
So, according to your moral values, you’re perfectly fine with me siphoning five gallons of gas out of your rig … to you that’s not stealing … it’s just the tyranny of the majority that gets me convicted of a crime … how awful …
I understand your point, one bag of household garbage* is very little … but you give yourself permission to violate another because it’s so small an amount … that never ends well, because now you’re habituated to violating another … and those amounts will just get bigger and bigger … someday someone will fill the fucker up full ten minutes after it’s dumped … AGAIN … remember, I’m speaking from experience here … little bits always leads this way …
You’re not a thief if you don’t steal … if you find yourself stealing even trivial amounts, well, then you are a thief … simple
Sorry, but I don’t consider throwing trash into a dumpster as “violating another”
Also, I just went into somebody’s office and they weren’t there. But I had a candy wrapper in my pocket that was bothering me, so I threw it in their trashcan - without their permission!! Have I violated them?
Also, you can put anything into black plastic trash bags and it will be picked up
And if a hundred other guys think with this obtuse rationalization, that dumpster gets filled up pretty quick.
So?
