how do I get spay adhesive off leather shoes?

for Halloween my gf went as a pimp and I sprayed a crappy pair of shoes with 3m super 77 aerosol adhesive and then sprinkled silver sparkles on them. (she was a hit by the way) only now she sees people wearing those same kind of shoes and wants to wear them but of course theres silver sprinkles flaking off all over the place.
so any ideas on how to get this stuff off without destroying the shoes?

I can understand the lack of use of capital letters, as you are undoubtedly fleeing a pack of wild dogs.

Leather is (briefly) resistant to some ammonia-based solvents, like window cleaner. On the other hand, most window cleaners contain a persistent dye which will stain leather. And, since I have no clue what the chemical makeup is of the stuff you sprayed on your shoes, I should warn you that it is possible that you may accidentally create chemicals which can kill you. I’m saying that because I’m a very poor chemist.

Whatever the case, you’ll still need some leather cleaner to neutralize the solvents you introduce into the fabric of the shoes.

ahhhhh, don’t be such a weeny, hit it with acetone!
The leather will be alright, and just remember to oil them after your done. Acetone will dry out the leather pronto, mink oil is the anti-acetone , You gotta do whachoo gotta do.
Ammonia will bounce off 77.

Please tell me you don’t work in a Vet clinic.

vet clinic? no and I am not sure I want to know how its related to my question.

sorry bout the lack of capitols, it was late and pretty much the last thing I did before bed.
acetone sounds good, the shoes were 2-3 bucks at a thrift store so no loss even if they disintigrate.

Thanks.

Heck, the acetone probably costs $2.29. Just buy another pair of those shoes and save that pair for another party.
