How do I keep a game score on my Android Notifications?

Somehow, magically Google notices that I used Google to search for a game score. I keep that Chrome Tab open, refresh (the search) to see who is ahead.

Once in awhile, Google adds the score to my notifications and on my lock screen.
SOMETIMES!!!

I can’t figure out how to turn it on. It just magically appears for awhile. Then it’s gone. Like the lingering fragrance of a fart in a room.

The tab in Chrome is still open. The game is still being played.

It’s always so cool to see the score on my notifications or lock screen.

What am I accidentally doing to turn this on??

your android may vary, but as long as you are always interested in a specific league or team, you can try:

  • open your google search app
  • (I have to click the (G) in the search bar now to open a different view of the app)
  • Click the “hamburger” menu in the upper left corner to open the tab with all of the options in it
  • Choose the “customize” option with an icon of sliders next to it.
  • Find “sports” and enable teams/leagues to follow either all the time, or when you have “activity” for them.

Even after doing this, it’s not always perfect. I find I don’t get terrible frequent updates about games I actually care about, but if from idle curiosity I search one day for the score of the Montauk-Slippery Rock tiddlywinks game, I’ll get notifications every five minutes for Montauk’s game the following week.

I’ll set that up for a couple teams that I follow. Thank you.

I’m not sure what I did before to get notifications about a game. All I had done is a Google search for the score. It’s happened several times this season. It always goes away after about 15 to 30 mins.

If it happens again. I’ll leave my phone locked. I’m curious if the score will update until the game ends. I think performing other Google searches may have turned this feature off. Just a WAG
