How do I love thee?

Feeling particularly affectionate and extroverted today, I decided what better way to show my appreciation for all my friends here than to open the flood gates and have a ‘love-in’ of my own?

Whatever you need…a hug, a kind word earnestly meant, a peck on the cheek, a little snuggle…whatever. You name it, you got it.

And if you don’t want it from me…sniff…I’m sure people will line up to please you.

It’s MONDAY, for goodness sakes. Everybody needs some love on Monday.

All rightie, then. Because I’m abnormally patient today, I’ll just sit tight…trying not to feel utterly heartbroken.

No love, huh? Anybody need their checkbook balanced? Their plants watered? Their laundry folded? Sheesh.

Well, I’m in college, I’ve been here for a month, today for the first time I feel homesick and I need some love. Gunslinger’s helped as best he can, but hey, if you want a love-in, you could try to help me out too.

Around third block today I really coulda used a hug. Spread the love; you’re a champ.

<sniffle> I won’t go into the details, but if you wanted to give me some chocolate and comb out my hair I wouldn’t say no.

racinchikki, consider yourself pampered. College can suck the first few weeks–especially when you’re away from home and loved ones. But you gotta know we’re just a click away. What’s your schedule like this semester? Any classes you really like? Good profs?

ARose, you’ve been virtually hugged. I’m good for it, too. Enlighten me, what’s third block? Ignoramus, that’s my middle name. I know what you mean about the whole ‘dial-a-hug’ feeling. Just a smile or a kind word goes a long way with me when I’m feeling detatched.

Chocolate and head massage on the way, Gramma. Complete with fuzzy slippers and the snuggly ‘My Grandson is the Prince of Darkness and All I Got Was This Lousy Blanket’ throw.

Third block being the third period of the day in block scheduling. High School fun, of course! A day consists of four periods of hour and a half long classes. Just ask Searching For Truth or Catalyst. They’ll whine away, too. Oh, and thanks for the virtua-hug. Score.

~ARose

Me too.

I’m feeling rather unloved at the moment

ARose…high school, huh? Well, if it makes any difference, I have a great deal of respect for you for plugging away at it every day. The life of a high schooler is no picnic–but it can be one of the best times of your life. Y’know, I’m getting my degree to teach high school English.

Arden, how can this be? Well, I’m going to give you a quick hug before everyone else comes barging in for a chance to love you up. Doesn’t mean much, probably, but I always smile when I see your posts. Clever.

Struuter, would you brush my hair for me?? You don’t have to do the 100 stroke thing…but, just for a long time …a hug would be nice to… I really could use a hug!

Angel

Arden and struuter, here are some battery rechargin’ hugs for both of you. Seeing either of you around here is always a kick in the pants.

I’ll need a back rub in a few hours after I’ve wrestled into place a few more of the shelving units I’m building in my cellar.

Angel, my gramma used to brush my hair for me when I was a little kid. Never hurt once. Lots of love in those brush strokes. When she got to be in her late nineties, I took great pleasure and pride in washing and pin-curling her snowy hair. Taught me to be gentle. And that the most mundane act can hold a lot of love. Consider yourself cared for.

A hug. Yes, please. A big snuggly hug. And maybe some soup?

I’m ready and waiting. Don’t strain your back and make sure the lighting is suffient.
I’d hate to have to give you a full-body, deep-toning rub down because you hurt yourself. No. I mean…I’d hate it if you hurt yourself. The other part sounds pretty good.

Nym, snuggly hugs are me forte. And soup…chicken tortilla is the best I make. Or chili. You pick. It’s your smile I’m after.

Thanks, struuter. By the way, if you’re going to be an English teacher… be a fun one, please! I mean, for Chrissake, don’t teach if you don’t like kids, people! I suppose thats a whole 'nother topic, though.

~ARose

Don’t worry about it. I like kids. Very, very much.

::Sniff::

struuter, if you feel like hugging a poor fish, I could use one. Nothing in particular, just life getting too busy with my sister’s wedding coming up, me getting off “new position probabation” at the job in another week and a half, and having a cold that I’m sure is plotting to kill me.
And, if it’s not being too presumptuous,
