How do I make exercising less of a pain in the butt? (slightly TMI)

So? That’s still a 50% portion of the U.S. that could be in danger by it. Products are pulled for much less.

Plus, there’s the simple fact that there are powders specifically labeled as being for women, or at least for that area on both sexes. It’s not like we’re talking baby powder. And even half of all babies are–guess what–female.

I have never seen as much as a black-box warning.

Yes, this was my thought, too. Plus if men are using it, then women are exposed to it indirectly–like through possible spills, etc. My thought was if this is so dangerous that it causes cancer, why keep it on the market at all? And why are there no warnings at all? It just makes me think–is this really a cancer causing substance? Or does it cause cancer the same way that vaccines “cause” autism?

Perhaps you should speak to your physician.

Here’s a link from the American Cancer Society on Talcum powder -

summary from the article…

[Advice for People Concerned About Talc and Cancer Risk

Studies of personal use of talcum powder have yielded inconsistent results, although there is some suggestion of an increase in ovarian cancer risk. No other forms of cancer appear to be associated with the use of talcum powder.

However, only a very small minority of women who have used talcum powder will ever develop ovarian cancer. And it is impossible to say to what extend talc use had contributed to these cases.

Until additional information is available about the safety of talc use, people who use powder may wish to consider avoiding these products or substituting cornstarch-based powders that contain no talc. There is no evidence at present linking cornstarch powders with any form of cancer.](http://www.cancer.org/docroot/cri/content/cri_2_6x_talcum_powder_and_cancer.asp)
