How do I set it back?
Control Panel - Folder Options - File Types tab lets you set the asscoiations. There may be several for your WMP files.

…but your question was so funny to me because I have to use a whip and chair to keep ANY microsoft product from becoming the default anything on my computer!
Anyway, what Shag said will work.
Also, you can launch WMP and go to tools, options, then file types…you can select what files will be the default player for WMP.
That’s the easier way. That way, you don’t accidentally miss a file type in the folders tab, or in case you forget to check the ‘apply to all folders’ box.
