How do I stop nested posts?

I just realized in a thread that a post had 2 replies but to see them I had to click and reveal them as nested under the post they were replying to.

This is a terrible feature, IMO; every post should be a part of the discussion. I don’t like having them “hidden”.

How do I disable this feature? I don’t see it anywhere in my Preferences.

If I’m understanding you right, the posts aren’t “hidden.” Scroll down, and you should find both of the replies. The replies feature is only a shortcut, and it doesn’t work all that well.

Wow. I went back and looked and yep, the posts were also just further down and they actually quoted the post that then listed them as Replies. So a totally useless shortcut feature; right on. I’m not surprised.

Thanks very much for your help in clarifying that, Greyson; you’ve been a huge help to everyone with this switchover, not just me. Mad props to you for that, eh.

I just happened to have already gone through all of this last year.

On another board I frequent, if a thread is long and fast moving, I’ll look at the replies to a specific post because by the time I get to the replies in the thread, I often forget who the original poster was and what these replies refer to. :laughing:
