I have a PC with a SoundBlaster compatible sound card. I also have a device that can accept input from a MIDI controller. I can use a game port-to-MIDI adapter cable to hook the two together. I have MIDI files on my PC.
How do I get my sound card to stream out MIDI so that to the device it looks like a MIDI controller? Possible? Need more H/W or S/W?
If I understand your question correctly, you need a Midi cable. It’s a cable with plugs with many connectors, a bit like a printer cable but not exactly the same. You plug it into the connector on the back of your sound card, and plug the other end in the device. Then you have to set the output of the media player program you use to the external midi device. That’s all. At least that’s what worked for me.
