How do I take screenshots in Windows Media Player 9.0?

I want to take a screenshot of a frame of video in WMP 9.0. Printscreen does not work.

Try this: Tools, Options, Performance, and turn Video acceleration to none. Then try printscreen again.

That washes out all the color. How do I preserve the color?

You can tryPrintkey, it’s a free screenshot program that works well.

One trick that used to work for me: Have the mouse cursor sloating over the resgion on the display that is playing the video, then take the screen capture. Don’t worry, the mouse pointer drops out when you print screen.

However, this method has not been working for me recently, so maybe I imagined it all.

Ah, yes, but does it work with Media Player? The problem here is that MP uses directX to display the video and uses a more direct route to the video hardware, which is why the standard methods don’t work.

I need an answer please.

I Googled “printscreen directx” and found:

http://www.supercapture.com/

It says it captures directX, and has a 45-day free trial.

I’m sure there are more.
