I just sent a Paypal payment to someone two days ago and the recipient hasn’t acknowledged it. The minute I sent it, it showed up in my history as “completed”. Does a recipient have to do any action, push a botton, log in to paypal, etc. to receive a payment, or can they completely miss the fact that you sent them something because it goes straight to their bank account without intervention?
They will receive an email notifying them of the payment. Also, if it was for an Ebay purchase, it will be shown as “payment received” on the seller’s My Ebay page.
So if they get scads of emails, they’ll miss it, they don’t have to log into Paypal to receive or acknowledge the payment, right? It’s not for a purchase.
Right. You could always send them a message saying “Just wanted to make sure you received my payment.” Of course they could miss that message too, but worth a try.
I think it gets automatically credited to their PayPal account, and they need to transfer it to their bank account by taking that step themselves, but there is no way for you to know that the payee has done that. If PayPal tells you that the funds have been debited from your account, that means they have been credited to somebody else’s.
I just leave my payments in my PayPal balance, and occasionally shift funds to or from my bank account on an as-needed basis.
The answer is NO, if you are wondering if you can PayPal a penny to some hot chick to see if she is getting your email harrassment.
