I see that at the bottom you can chose a time frame for posts you want to see, but is this the same thing as looking at archived posts?

If by “archived,” you mean older threads that have been saved in a special place, that you cannot post to anymore, I don’t think we have any.
Just about all of the thread here have the same “status.” You can read and post to, any thread on this board*, whether it be this one started today, or a thread from 1999. However, “bumping” on old thread, (so-called because posting to any thread “bumps” it to the front page of the thread list) is frowned upon because it can cause confusion about posters who are long-gone, coding that is outdated, and it’s a pain to figure out where the old content begins and where the new begins.
The link you refer to at the bottom of the page just chooses how far back you want to read.
- Except, of course, those that have been locked or deleted due to special circumstances (rules being broken, announcements…).
