How do you carry your phone?

My phone goes in my left shirt pocket, where my cigarettes used to go before I quit smoking.

55, belt clip. Only it goes on the shoulder strap of my[del] purse[/del] manbag.

Over 40, in my pocket.

I’ll join you in that rant. But I shop hard for clothes with pockets, and sometimes pay a taylor to deepen my pockets to make them useable if I can’t find suitable pants with useable pockets.

Over 40, pocket

Likewise, though I quit smoking about 20 years before I started carrying a cell phone. If the preferred place isn’t available, left front pants pocket. 68 yo male.

59 yr old male. I actually don’t carry it around much. They’re not allowed where I work so it stays in the truck most of the day. When I fly, it’s in my flight bag. Out on the boat, it’s in a sealed emergency box with my keys and wallet. I rarely carry it into stores or restaurants, so I guess it’s my hand or pocket for short journeys to/from vehicles.

Maybe I’ll get one of those holsters when I retire.

I’m over 40 and carry the thing in my pants pocket, with the screen facing my leg. I do that because when I carried it once in my pocket with the screen facing out, I bumped into a nice solid corner, resulting in paying for a replacement screen.

When I feel the need to leave the phone on a table, desk, or other flat surface, I leave the phone with the screen facing down to protect the screen somewhat.

Way over 40, shirt pocket. My usual Weatherproof jacket has a phone pocket inside the left side so I use that when wearing it.

I’m over 40. I have a belt clip, a Seidio Surface kit. It’s a phone case and a belt clip that’s designed for the case with a spring-loaded retaining thingy. Easy to detach voluntarily, but never detaches by accident.

My front pockets are for keys and wallet and change. If I’m wearing cargo pants or a jacket with extra pockets, I leave the belt clip at home.

I keep it in my shirt pocket, but in the summer, when I’m wearing golf shirts, I use a case on my belt.

Shirt pocket when my only concern is what’s practical and easy but sometime it’s aesthetically unappealing in my shirt pocket. When I don’t keep it in my shirt pocket it’s in the front pocket of my pants.

I don’t understand the phone in the back pocket. Do these people just always remember to take the phone out when they sit down? Nope. They don’t. I see people with their phones in their back pockets and they sit down with the phone in the pocket! You people do know what happens to your pants when you sit down, right? Your pants bend, your phone does not. And why do you always have a cracked screen? I wonder.

I am so totally going to pickpocket you.

I’m 61. I carry my phone in my right rear pants pocket, in a 12 South Book Book case which also serves as my wallet.

Over 40, pocket. I don’t think I know anyone who uses a belt clip.

I’m under 40, and I carry my phone in my pocket. I had a clip over 10 years ago when I had a flip phone and it was uncomfortable in my pocket. These days, I’m not really sure why, but a phone clipped to the belt just seems pretentious. Maybe that’s because phones used to be a status symbol and now that almost everyone has one, it just seems like you’re drawing attention to it. And, frankly, a clip is more of a hassle with a smart phone, though I can kind of see the utility for a flip or slide phone because of how thick they are.

Shirt pocket. (Over 40)

To me, it seems the opposite. It’s an accessory I’d expect to see accompanying sandals with socks, young adults with their faces turned down sighing “Daaaad!!!

Remember Mike Myer’s character “Middle Aged Man” from 90s SNL? The guy who was always proud that he knew how to set up the VCR? That’s the guy I see carrying a cell phone on a belt clip.

I’m partial to very large phones ( currently an LG Stylo), so they don’t fit in standard pockets well. Most of the time, I’m wearing scrubs with a cargo style pocket on the right leg, and that’s perfect. When I’m not in scrubs, it’s a constant game of “what do I do with this huge thing now?” sometimes I’ll get out a purse to carry it, sometimes I can choose a jacket with big enough pockets…and sometimes I just have to carry the thing in my hand, although I try to minimize that.

I’m 48 and carry my pocket watch in a belt pouch.

Here in Sweden it is a rare sight indeed to see a phone on a belt.

Over 40, male, front pants pocket (or jacket pocket if weather allows).
