Me, I’ve always pictured him looking sort of like Lorne Michaels. No idea why.
An old guy in white robes sitting on a cloud. No, wait…
On one thread discussing the whole ‘there is no real Cecil’ thing, Wolfian described him as “the Dread Pirate Cecil taking no prisoners in his attacks on ignorance.” I quite liked that.
You ever see the X-Files episode “Jose Chung’s ‘It Came From Outer Space’”? I picture him looking exactly like Jose Chung.
Here Cecil says he’s kickin back watchin a ballgame…or was it veggin?
I can see that. Old t-shirt, boxers and a beer. Needs a shave, maybe comb the hair…what’s left of it
Eatin a sammich and chips, cussin the Cubbies
He’s gotta take a break once in awhile and pretend he’s human like the rest of us.
“But he ain’t human like the rest of us.” Lonesome Dove
Thirty years ago there was a guy on local TV who introduced late Saturday night horror flicks. He was bald, pudgy and buck-toothed. His name was Sir Cecil Creep. Well, you know, once a picture gets set in your mind…
I am not so presumtuous as to attempt to envision him. You are blasphemers!
Well, that’s the way I see him, anyway.
I think of him as a scruffier P.J. O’Rourke
Either that or Master Kan
I think of him as a sort of Mycroft Holmes character.
Black plastic glasses, crazy white hair, sort of like a very thin Jerry Garcia.
Didn’t one of the Greek philosophers say “If horses chose to fight ignorance, they would imagine Cecil in their own image”?
I have an Uncle Cecil - grey hair, buck teeth, steel-rimmed glasses, brays like a horse …
I also have an old friend Cecilia - grey hair, buck teeth, steel-rimmed glasses, brays like a horse …
So I’m kinda stuck with the image. :dubious:
Julie
I always had a Unibomber thing in my brain when I thought of Cecil. Now that I saw that Ed Zotti picture, I’m all screwed up.

Exactly what is in my mind, except for the thin part. Just like Jerry Garcia, only taller.
I always picture him as a turkey wearing a mortarboard, but I’m strange that way.
For no particular reasons, I vacillate between Max Von Sydow and Ed Asner.
Kinda like iampunha in boxers and a white wife-beater, with a paper bag on his head.
Like that photo I saw of him on the net. Kinda has that Stephan King look.
