Are you serious? That sounds really obvious- although, now that I think about it, kids at my high school probably wouldn’t even know what forte means.
Like matt_mcl I mostly have buttons. I get a lot of them at Northern Sun.
I do have a Hot Topic shirt that says, in silver studs on a blood-red shirt, “I bite.” My current favorite t-shirt says “Broon: 2004 FALL tour” and references a ren faire entertainer who fell 15 feet and injured himself quite badly during an escape stunt last summer. The t-shirts are being sold to raise money for his medical bills.
How can you not know what it says on your shirt Girl can’t read or something?
That shirt is hanging on my chair behind me
If you click on that link, it says, “the extra large version of this is sold-out”.
I find that real funny.
Same here. I especially won’t wear anything with advertising on it. If it’s got advertising on it, then the shirt should be free. Simple as that.
Anyway, although all my shirts are text-free these days, my absolute favourite is one that used to be around in the 70s, and it simply said:
INNOCENT BYSTANDER
I might just get one of those made up one day.
I just like the way that Abercrombie & Fitch and Urban Outfitters sell a combination of vintage T-shirts from the 70s and 80s, old athletic Ts, goofy shit that you can find at any Spencers or tourist trap and obscure New England-esq bar and restaurant Ts for $30.
Or I could just see if I kept any of my old T-shirts from 8th grade.
T-shirt Hell, cited by Susie above, has one of the funniest collections of (usually raunchy) shirts out there. There’s another site I have bookmarked on another computer with spoofs on classic ad images – will see if I can find it later.
My T-shirt Hell faves:
“They shake me” (cited, and with cute pic, by Silver Fire above)
“My daddy drinks cause I cry”
“I’m part of the problem”
“I’m what Willis was talkin’ about”
Caveat re Northern Sun: Their “Chief Seattle” stuff is spurious. I mean, you can buy them if you like them, just don’t expect the picture or the words to be those of Seattle (Sealth).
I don’t wear message shirts. For one thing, I rarely wear T-shirts at all, except when working out or sleeping. Message shirts, especially ones that have jokes on them, get really old after a while. In general, I rarely find any shirts that are as funny as they think they are and don’t have an overused expression on them. Besides, they just don’t fit into my style.
This, however, is hilarious.
There is a trick to this though. Those shirts heavily populate my closet. Say those shirts come out in full force sometime in March. I wait until November when those places are desperatly clearing out mercahndise. I don’t think I’ve had to pay over $2 for a t-shirt in a few years. The good thing is that by waiting no-one still wears them, no one remembers where they came from, and I’m pretty much buying them for cost. Works just as well with long sleeved tshirts, pants, shorts, hooded sweatshirts, etc.
The only way I could spend less on clothing is to go around naked.
I just ordered this shirt. I also want the Red Mage one, which I think is funny because I have never played D&D in my life and have no interest in it whatsoever.
I have one that says “dump him now”.
I just thought it was funny, but I usually get one of two polarized reactions.
1.) High fives and “Hell yeahs”
or
2.) Rolled eyes and “what a bitch” comments.
It is not aimed at anyone, just funny to me. lol
I just ordered this one. It will be one of several I have from there. It’s the second one from the top “Trample the Weak” looks great with the utilikilt.
I like cartoon character shirts… cursory glance in my closet shows Pink Panther, Oscar the Grouch (Have a rotten day!), several Curious George shirts (including the one where he’s gotten into the bottle of ether), Hello Kitty, Hong Kong Phooey, Care Bears, Smurfs, Chilly Willy, Felix the Cat, a red shirt with the Superman logo, and a couple of Batman shirts. I like the ringers that look vintage/designs that look retro or older.
As for “messages,” I have:
- Jin Wicked (ringer I used iron-on letters to make myself)
- I do all my own stunts.
- I’m the evil twin.
- WTF? (Thinkgeek shirt)
- STFU (another Thinkgeek shirt)
and like three more with cutesy little leet-speak messages on them.
I haven’t changed sizes in a few years and I tend to take good care of my stuff so yeah, I have an assload of shirts. I have a lot of plain and dressy shirts, too, I just like fun stuff for the day-to-day wear.
I’ll never get them, but I probably want a good fifth of the shirts on this site:

I’m a giant nerd.
